To anybody considering Min Min,
I can't say enough good things about Min Min. I run a small business in the United States and this past Januray (2010) was my first time visiting China. Myself and two other people were traveling there with the goal of creating a new product. Needless to say there was a lot to learn and do before we got there. Min Min researched factories that might be able to manufacture our product. She contacted them prior to us arriving, weeded out the bad ones and set up meetings with the legitimate ones. She coordinated EVERYTHING for us. I don't know if you quite understand how big of a relief that is. She had train tickets waiting for us, drivers reserved for the days we had to travel where trains did not and the local knowledge to take a taxi when nothing more was needed. We really had to worry about absolutely nothing except for talking with the factories once we were there.
When it came to the translating during the meetings she was perfect. She understood everything we were saying. She even got our sarcasm which is a true sign that she understands English very well. We never had to talk slow or repeat ourselves. It was like talking with a co-worker from the United States. She paid attention and after the 2nd or 3rd factory she knew exactly what we wanted. So from then on we'd all walk in and Min Min would just start talking on behalf of our company. She caught on very quickly to all the little things we were looking for. She certainly has dealt with tough businessmen before and had no problem handing herself.
I could truly write another 5 paragraphs about how great of an experience we had with her. Point is our product is being made as I type this. She is honest, on time, a hard worker and fun to be around. One experience best sums up Min Min: During one of our factory visits we were talking with a "middle man" regarding manufacturing our products. The moment we left the factory the middle man called Min Min and told her that if she could get us to do business with him he'd give her a percentage of the profits. Obviously we are all aware this stuff happens. BUT the point is Min Min immediately made us aware of the situation without ever thinking twice about taking the deal. She was appaled that the guy would even think she'd do something like that to her clients. And she could have made a lot of money off that deal.

We're back in Oregon, had good flights from Shanghai and then Tokyo. We were whipped when we arrived, but 12 hours sleep last night did wonders. ha.
We want to thank you for the wonderful two days you spent with us. We had several tours during our cruise and we enjoyed yours the best. Your command of English was also the best of any of our guides. We appreciate that you took us to see not only the standard tourist sights but also several places that tourists would rarely go. I was so very fortunate to have min min as a personal guide when I was in shanghai. I was only able to be there for one day, and had several places I wanted to see and certain purchases I needed to make. Min min speaks beautiful English, which was invaluable to me! She knows the city, and how to maneuver every mode of transportation imaginable. She was willing to give suggestions if a person did not have certain places to see, and also was very gracious to make all the contacts I desired to make. It was an absolutely perfect day, with me seeing numerous sites in shanghai, shopping, eating at traditional as well as more modern places, and ending the day at the breathtaking shanghai acrobat circus! I highly recommend min min for any excursion in the shanghai area.

Last summer my wife and I spent over two weeks in China and visited several cities. In each of the cities, we hired a local guide, but no one provided as good a service as Min Min. Before we arrived in Shanghai she helped us plan the trip and bought the train tickets we needed. She was very efficient and prompt replying all our emails. In Shanghai, however, was when we discovered the pleasure of touring with Min Min. It was like visiting a foreign friend: she took us to her favorite restaurants and shops and some culturally fascinating spots off the beaten path. We also spent a couple of days in Hangzhou. She was very helpful with the shopping and ordering food and unlike it happened with other guides in other cities, not once did we end in a tourist trap. I have recommended her to my friends as I am convinced she is a great guide for independent travelers who want a local and knowledgeable contact.

Dear Min Min,We arrived home Thursday morning and went back to work that afternoon. It has been hectic since then but now, on the week end we have had a change to reflect on our trip. We had an excellent time in Beijing with Catherine and Tracy and later with Jeff in Xi'An. We very much enjoyed the trip to the Great Wall and Summer Palace. We also enjoyed some of the very modern aspects including the Olympic sites and a contemporary art area called"789". The entombed warriors in Xi'An were fantastic. We just spent three days with Min Min in Shanghai. I cannot recommend her enough. Min Min is sincere, smart, prompt, trustworthy, professional, knowledgeable, warm, friendly, a great shopping negotiator, and knows her city well. She was able to come up with ideas to suit our interests no matter what we presented to her. She took us places that we never would have seen on our own and to restaurants that were terrific and well suited. We had tour guides in other cities in China who were very clearly getting kick backs from merchants and restaurants......none of this happened with Min Min, she was negotiating only for us and did one great job. She is one wonderful human being who will make your time in Shanghai memorable.

There are nearly 2000 passengers on the Queen Victoria and I can say with complete certainty that of everybody on board and we had the best day.

Now that I am back home and recovered (mostly) from the jet lag, I wanted to write you and thank you for your assistance during my two days in Shanghai. I wish we had some more time to see the rest of the sites. My trip to Ningbo was great and I had an opportunity to see some additional sites as well as partake in some local culture. We returned home from our holiday a few days ago and I am now catching up with my email.
Thank you very much for looking after us so well and showing us around when we stopped over in Shanghai in early February. We enjoyed the day and because of your planning saw everything we had on our list. You gave us an insight into Chinese life we wouldn't have got otherwise which made the trip even more memorable.

I found Min Min to be a very warm and intelligent person. She has an appreciation for her people and her country that is both refreshing and endearing. Min Min possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of Shanghai and China. There is no place in the city that she has not been and as a tour guide she is excellent at taking you around all the must see cites and prime shopping districts. She is also a very honest person. I had been warned to watch some guides as they make deals with shop owners to steer customers there way. We hired Min Min for a one-day tour of Shanghai in January, 2009. Communications with her prior to the tour were excellent, and she had very clear ideas of what to show us in such a limited time, but was also happy to add or subtract things as we wanted. She met us at our hotel promptly, and showed us the Jade Budda Temple, Yu Yuan Gardens, the old city, Pudong and the Former French Concession. Finally, she helped us buy glasses at a local eyeglasses market. A great day that gave us a good introduction to the city. Min Min is simply terrific. She knows the city and its cultural treasures very well, plus, as a local, she can provide priceless perspective about life in Shanghai that she's experienced herself or that she's learned from her parents and grandparents. Her English is excellent. We highly recommend Min Min and will seek out her services again next time we're in Shanghai.

We have the luck of spending three compete days with Min Min during our holiday week in Shanghai and, we still think that we should have hired her one more day! I can't recommend Min Min enough as a tour guide in Shanghai. I spent three and a half days with her on my two week tour of China and she did a wonderful job taking me to all the popular tourist sites as well as some that were off the beaten path. She knows a huge amount about the culture and history of Shanghai and China and was almost always able to answer my questions. On the rare occasion there was something she didn't know about, she would usually look it up and get back to me with the information. She also helped me with Hotel arrangements and bargaining at the markets. She definitely knows her way around Shanghai like the back of her hand. Min Min is also very bright, energetic and fun to be around, so she is sure to make your trip a memorable one!

We just came back from our first trip to China and before we went we were lucky enough to come across Min Min on the internet. I hired Min Min as a tour guide for three days during a five day trip to Shanghai with my 18 year old niece. Min Min is unfailingly pleasant, extraordinarily energetic, and knows Shanghai quite well. She was also very careful with prices, finding local restaurants and negotiating at markets for us. She has good English skills and communicating with her to arrange the tours was quite simple. I had the opportunity to have Min Min take me on an excursion to Zha Jia Jiao Ancient Watertown during a visit to Shanghai in May of 2007. We especially enjoyed the visit to the Vintage Watertown, that was exceptional.
Special thanks must be given to you for showing us how to use your train system which is excellent, very quick and very cheap. Once you had left us we were able to get around very easily.
Nothing was too much trouble for you, you took us where we wanted to go, not like on other organised tours where the tour is mapped out adhered to rigorously.
The restaurants you took us to were also very good. The food was second to none.
You certainly gave us great memories Min Min, the people, the food and of course the sites. These memories will stay with us forever and my husband and I would definitely recommend you as a tour guide.
